The revolutionary new outdoor infra red heater, Technoheater™ , released earlier this year has achieved the British Standard (BS EN 60335-1:2012) and is one of only very few patio heaters to have secured this for both indoor and outdoor use.

Securing the British Standard clearly demonstrates the safety and efficiency of Technoheater™, which reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 50 per cent and provides running costs that are typically 85 per cent less than with a gas patio heater. The British Standard relates to room heaters, household and similar electrical appliances, providing added reassurance and peace of mind for consumers.

Jason Mace, owner of the Technoheater range, said: “It is fantastic that the Technoheater™ range has achieved the British Standard, providing added reassurance and peace of mind for customers. It’s the time of year when most people are spending more time outdoors and Technoheater means being able to host parties, dine or relax outside or in marquees or gazebos for longer, whilst feeling warmer and more comfortable.”

Technoheaters work by using innovative Far Infrared Radiation (FIR) , which heats the person not the air, by use of infrared waves. These radio waves cause pulses in the electromagnetic field that affect ions in the surface area of the skin and as the molecules vibrate, they produce heat. FIR technology is completely safe and makes a person feel comfortably warm. It is also widely used in hospitals for its health benefits, as not only does it keep you warm, it actually raises the metabolic rate and makes a person feel better.

Technoheaters are ideal for use by families, as unlike traditional gas patio heaters, there is no risk of burning, as they are cool to the touch.

The Technoheater range features four original range models, with the Apollo and Athena units available with integrated lights and Athena also including a media player. Alongside the original models, the Technoheater range has been extended and now incorporates three additional models, the free standing Mercury, wall mounted Venus and ceiling mounted Vulcan heater.

A recent study by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs calculated that, on average, a domestic gas-fired patio heater can emit six tonnes of carbon dioxide a year. With Technoheater, homeowners can be doing their bit to save the environment, by reducing their carbon emissions from outdoor heating systems.

Garden lovers will also find that they are able to make significant savings, as the Technoheater range features special sensors that register your movement within a radius of five metres, which makes the device go into standby mode in times of inactivity.

With a high quality, attractive powder coated paint finish, technoheaters not only look great but are weather resistant and can be left outside throughout summer and winter. All technoheaters come with a two year manufacturers’ warranty.
